A typically non-hostile species of giant. The origin of the titans is in the stories of Greek mythology. There were twelve titans, of which Cronus, ruler of the heavens prior to Zeus, was most senior. Zeus waged a ten-year war with Cronus and his allies for dominion over heaven and earth. Zeus was victorious, and consigned the defeated titans to Tartarus. The legend of Atlas, the one who holds up the heavens, is related to the titans' defeat.
