Habitat: Forest Origin: ???
Meaning: ???

Although mention of living trees as protectors of the forest date back centuries, the name "treant" is derived from the term "ent" used to describe the tree spirits in J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" story. Its features include long branches for arms and a trunk and lower branches used as legs, and renowned longevity. It is generally taciturn unless provoked by the axes of woodcutters or wildfire, in which case it retaliates without remorse.
